The first step is the hardest….

….. or should that be the first post! After years of thinking about it I have finally started a blog. I always had this image of myself sitting at the computer, full of inspired ideas and bursting with interesting things to say, tea in hand, creating this blog. The reality is vastly different. I’m actually on the couch, nursing a feverish and fidgety infant, slightly cold but unwilling to wake my child and get up to turn off the fan. The impetus to start is not a head full of inspired ideas, but rather boredom and the fact I found a blogger app for my iPhone (I’m addicted to apps at the moment). Nevertheless, it is exciting to take the first step.

Why is it called The Natural Mum? Because I’m a naturopath, nutritionist and mother to a beautiful baby girl. I’m trying to find my way in this crazy world of mothering, and trying to raise my child in a natural and loving manner. It’s also a little tongue-in-cheek; I’m sure all new mothers understand that the last thing you feel is a ‘natural’ at motherhood. I’m hoping it will be a form of journal for me. A repository for information I come across, recipes, experiences, special moments and more.

But for now it means I can cross one more thing off my ‘to-do’ list! That done, I can go back to gazing lovingly at my baby girl sleeping in my lap 🙂

  1. Awe the last line, so sweet, made me smile at the visual thought.

  2. I think we have all had those lovely moments watching our babies sleep. I'm sure you did it many a time too 🙂
